So I'm doodling again, and feeling experimental. I've seen a lot of stuff on here that's inspired me to play around with lighting and deep shadows. It's potentially a lot of fun.

So, that's my current mission. Hope it produces something worthwhile.

Actually, 3D is cool because...

...because I've hurt my little finger and holding a pen is painful. *cries*.

At least I can operated Autocad and 3D Studio using the mouse.

At the moment I'm working on a picture trade for somebody I met on furc (if that's you reading this, Reaper EX, be patient. It's looking cool enough, I think, and I'll get it scanned and traced as soon as I can!)

No more 3D!

After doing the light sabres, I then promised to model a sword that my new friend Chaz designed - expect to see it on here soonish. In the meantime, I've recreated a bit of horrible history - the knives used by the possessed fiend, Momma Guthrie.

Nicely stained, scratched and gore-spattered, laid to rest on an equally-filthy marble slab. Yummy.

I never did get my revenge on that witch...

More light sabres

Escher's light sabre is up for viewing. Took me about an hour to model and texture. I'm fairly happy with it, although the heavily-knurled grip didn't come out quite how I wanted.

In classic Esch style, this sabre is heavy enough and tough enough to be used as a bashing weapon, even with the power turned off!

With the blade fired up and the inertial accelerator at full strength, parrying a double-handed swing from this monster would probably knock you off your feet. Good thing Esch is a big kitty.

Edit:: Added a sketch of Escher looking all hurt and battered. Just a quick scribble, but I think it's pretty cool. [link]
